4 AC Tips to Prepare for Summer

Spring time in Phoenix Arizona is an awesome time of year. Temps are starting to rise from a somewhat chilly Valley Winter so it would be a good time to make the necessary preparations that ensure your Air Conditioning system is in tip top shape before you need it.

So, without further ado, here are our five tips to help you better prepare your air conditioner this Spring season.

1. Get Your HVAC System Checked

This one sounds simple enough, but we can’t emphasize enough the importance of having a qualified HVAC technician come to your home or commercial building, to do a system check to make sure everything is functioning correctly and that there are no underlying issues (potential leaks, damaged or worn parts, etc.) that could end up costing you more money and grief down the road.

2. Get Your AC Ducts Cleaned

Especially during the preceding Arizona Summer, your AC unit was most likely running almost continuously.  This means that air is being circulated throughout the duct work within your home and with it, comes dust, allergens and other small debris that may hinder your AC system’s performance and the quality of the air in your home. That’s why before the next Summer begins, you may want to call us to have a trained HVAC technician come to your home or commercial building to thoroughly clean your ducts.

3. Change Your AC Filter

This is something that is very easy for you to do yourself, but quite often is ignored.  Dirty air filters make your air conditioning system work harder, use more energy and could even cause a break down if left unchecked.  It’s important to remember that the primary function of your AC filter is to trap dirt, dust and allergens before they can pass through your home.

4. Run Your AC System Before the Summer

Running your air conditioning a few weeks before the Phoenix AZ temperatures begin to rise gives you an opportunity to check whether your AC unit will work the moment you expect it to. If any issues arise, they can be resolved before the scorching 100 degree plus temperatures hit our Valley of the Sun.

Heeding these tips can help you to avoid more serious problems with your air conditioner when it’s working its hardest…during the Summer.  And that could end up saving you a lot money and regret.
